November Principal's Letter

“May the saints who lived for all.  Bless us each in their outreach.”

October 26, 2011

Dear Parents and Friends of St. Christopher School,

I want to begin by thanking you for your continued support of St. Christopher School and for your encouraging words during my first few months as principal.  This school has a welcoming nature that most people don’t understand and I see that caring side expressed among our students, parents and staff members. It’s one of the many reasons that I am happy to lead St. Christopher School to a new level of excellence. I want our parents to know that our staff members are working very hard to carry out the mission and vision for our school and that has me convinced that St. Christopher School’s future will continue to be bright.

November already, where have the days gone? It will soon be time to “fall back” and the ritual of the clocks heralding the coming of winter begins. I love November because it is the beginning of one of the most wonderful seasons as we begin the new liturgical calendar. The season of Advent is just around the corner, and I look forward to this time of preparation and thanksgiving for all God has given to my family and the wonderful blessings I receive each day as I work with the children, parents, and the wonderful staff of St. Christopher School. As we enter this season, I hope all of our families will take some time together to celebrate in thanksgiving for all that God has given you.

The Police Department Mass held on October 2nd was big success.  Our students made cards to thank the police for keeping us safe!  They were a big hit and we hope to do this again next year.

The Nashua Catholic Diocesan Schools’ annual fundraiser, The Calendar Raffle, was an “out of the ballpark” success.  This success was truly because of your generosity.  Each of the three Nashua Catholic Diocesan Schools received $16,000 to put towards their educational budgets!! Thank you so very much for your support!

Early Release Day – The St. Christopher School teaching staff continued their professional development on the Eno boards.  Todd Campion, Technology Integration Specialist from the Nashua School District, presented a wonderful workshop that highlighted the use of specific sites to create lessons that will enrich our curriculum.

Our Adopted Religious Program is underway.  We had more responses than ever before and every class will have someone visiting them on a monthly basis!

PBS Food Science Night was such a fun evening for the students AND parents who attended!  The students were able to do experiments using simple household items.  Each student was given a notebook to record their experiments and make predictions.  There were also a few experiments that involved eating the final product!  YUM!!

The Cross Country season is coming to a close.  Every runner on the team gave it their all and I am very proud of them!  Congratulations go out to those runners who placed in the top 3 in the Nashua PAL 2K race.  Boys: Nick Dahl came in 1st and Chris Stawasz came in 3rd.  Girls: Amelia Piercy came in 2nd.  The final Catholic Schools meet on Thursday, October 27th at PMA has been cancelled due to rain and will not be rescheduled.

IMPORTANT SCHOOL CALENDAR CHANGE – April 11, 2012 there will be no school.

All teachers will be attending the National Catholic Education Association Conference in Boston, Massachusetts.  NCEA is the largest private professional education organization in the world, representing 200,000 Catholic educators serving 7.6 million students in Catholic elementary and secondary schools, in religious education programs, in seminaries and in colleges and universities. This conference only comes to Boston every 5-7 years and is an opportunity for some rich professional development. We are all looking forward to this wonderful opportunity!
