The goals of the Healthy St. Chris Program are to inform and educate families about health, utilize community partnerships for the health and safety of students, and develop programs and policies to support good health. The program promotes recommendations such as the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.

During the school year, Healthy St. Chris puts on a number of fun and educational programs for both the children and their parents. Recent programs include:

  • Operation Lunch Line -- a fun, interactive look at healthy eating
  • Cyberbullying Workshop for parents
  • Ladies Night Out -- a cooking demonstration for St. Chris moms and their friends
  • Annual Walk-Run -- a great afternoon of activities, health information, snacks, and  Walk-Run races for all students

What is the Healthy St. Chris Program?

Principal Jack Daniels and Director of Advancement Marta Nissen, along with parents Sue Sheehy and Fred Daniels, began to roll out the Healthy St. Chris Program during the 2008-2009 school year. Thanks to many parent volunteers the first year of Healthy St. Chris resulted in physical activity and nutrition classes, Walk NH, health trivia and the first annual Healthy St. Chris Fun Run.
