October News from 2T

Fall is definitely here! The leaves are changing colors and the weather is getting a bit cooler too. We are just finishing our unit on the American Legend Johnny Appleseed. It was very interesting to learn that Johnny Appleseed grew up in Leominster Mass, and he planted apple orchards in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana. He also befriended Native Americans and was helpful to many people he met on his journey west.
The month of October brings its own new fun and exciting units too! We will be learning some interesting facts about Christopher Columbus, bats, spiders and Halloween.
We will be learning about the Sacraments -- their signs, symbols, words and actions. Our first lesson will be about the Sacrament of Baptism.
In Math, we are working on related subtraction facts and we will be learning related addition facts, too. We will use related addition facts to check subtraction and join related addition and subtraction facts and introduce them as our fact families.
