November News
October ended and November began in quite the unusual way. Who could have imagined a snow storm, power outages,4 missed days of school and celebrating Halloween in November???!!! Wow!!
With our NorEaster behind us I will get right into what we'll be doing in November.
In Religion we will be learning about the Seasons of the Church, Ordinary Time, Advent, Christmas, Lent, Three Days and Easter. We'll also be learning about God's Love, The Bible, Old and New Testament and the Gospels.
We will be reviewing our long and short vowels, initial blends, final blends and diagraphs in Phonics.
In English we will be studying predicates of sentences, singular and plural nouns and the five parts of a friendly letter.
Math this month will include rounding to the nearest ten, even and odd numbers, counting by three's and fours, and Identifying and recognizing ordinal numbers.
November is a fun and exciting month in Social Studies!! We will be learning lots of information about the first Thanksgiving, Native Americans, and Pilgrims, We'll learn about the kinds of homes they lived in, the food they ate and how the Pilgrims survived with the help of their friends the Native Americans.
