Home Students Classroom Pages Grade 6 - Miss Wefers Fall Festivities

Fall Festivities

6W is off to a wonderful start to this new school year.  We look forward to our leadership role at St. Christopher.  It is now our turn to set a good example for the younger students.

We had the honor of planning and participating in the Back to School Mass.  Father Kelley, our pastor, was the celebrant.

We joined forces with our friends in 6E to present a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony to the entire school community.  Thank you to those students who wore their Girl Scout or Boy Scout uniforms for this assembly.  We Remember September 11th.  We Will Never Forget.

We studied the events of September 11, 2001, and learned about the Tenth Anniversary plans in Current Events.  We are reviewing and expanding our map and globe skills using our new books, the ENO board, and our very own cartography talents!

Social Studies Jeopardy tryouts will end in a year-round contest that begins in November and ends in June.  There is a trophy for the winner.

Our homeroom activities include a weekly spelling list, a study of the Old Testament, and various books by the author Avi.  Students should have the book read by September 30th and be prepared to complete activities on it in class.

Cross Country practice is underway.  Thank you, Coach Valin!

Thanks to all who attended the Back to School/Back to Church Mass and the Open House.  We appreciate your support!
