OCTOBER CLASS NEWS 2011

Happy Fall!  We are beginning a new month and a new season as we continue to move forward in kindergarten.  Our themes for October include:  Fall, Pumpkins, and Fire Safety.  We are hoping to have our usual visit from the Nashua Fire Dept. as part of our fire safety lesson.  Needless to say, the ladder truck is always a big hit.

The children will be receiving their elephant card this month.  The elephants' story is one of obedience which is our next character trait.  Obedience involves having a good attitude and carrying out the wise direction of those who are responsible for us.  The rewards of obedience are: protection, provision and direction.  Obedience helps with maintaining order and well being for all.  If you are having trouble with your child disobeying at home, this card may come in handy for you to use as a reminder to your child.Laughing

We will continue spending time on name writing and proper letter and number formation in the coming weeks.  Thanks to all of you for helping your children to get a bit more practice in at home by using the worksheets that were sent home.  Already many children are showing improvement.

We began writing in our journals last month and will continue writing in them regularly throughout the months ahead.  This is a great activity which serves as a way for the children to express themselves through picture drawing and phonics application.  The journals also make a wonderful keepsake at the end of the year.

On Friday, October 30 our class will be having our traditional Halloween Hat Day!  (More details will be coming.)

ENJOY THIS GLORIOUS MONTH OF AUTUMN!!
