Mrs. Marilis Klevisha is the Half-Day Pre-K teacher's aide.

Bev Landry received her BA in Education from Rivier College in 1970. She initially worked in Hudson, NH as an Elementary Ed Teacher. She worked as a public school teacher until 1973 when she left to open her own early childhood center. At Kinder World she wore many hats as director and teacher. During her time as director she earned a Masters Degree in Theology, Guidance, Business, Creative Arts and Literacy. Her center served the greater Nashua Community from 1973 to 2003. Before coming to St Christopher School she worked as a substitute teacher in Massachusetts teaching all subjects in Elementary Ed, grades K-5. She joined the St Christopher Community in 2008 as the Pre-K Teacher and Visual Arts Instructor. She is currently enrolled in a Doctoral program in the arts. Teaching is her passion.

February News

Hello Pre K Parents!  Here is our February News!  Hola Febrero 2010!

Gary the Groundhog visited our classroom to talk about his Cousin Paunxatawny Phil who would predict the next six weeks of weather.  Will it be six more weeks of winter or an early Spring? 

Father Paul, our adopted priest for Pre K, will visit on February 2nd.  He will bring his seahorse collection to share witht he children.  Children who have collections may bring them in to share with Father.

On February 11th, we will celebrate Pradhiti's birthday. happy Birthday, Pradhiti!

The letters of the month are:  Ss, Tt, Uu and Vv.

The numbers of the month are:  17. 18. 19 and 20.

Our classroom auction project is being designed by Kira, Kristen, Kristen W. and the children.  It will make a wonderful item when finished.  Thank you so much!

School Vacation is the week of February 22nd.  Enjoy your winter vacation!

Happy new Year, 2010!

Father Paul Bouchard pastor  of Our Lady of Mercy church, Merrimack,  NH is our adopted priest for the Pre-K class. He visits once a month and is schedule to be here on January 5 at 10:00am 

Sincere thanks for all the wishes, cards and gifts that Marilis, Rose Mary and I received for Christmas.
We are grateful.

We will celebrate Thomas Dahl's birthday on January 16th.

Our letters for January are p,q, r, and s.

Our numbers are:  15, 16, 17 and 18.

Looking forward to the second half of the year.  Our first half of the year was Outstanding!

 DECEMBER NEWS 

 

 Sincere thanks to all the parents who came for conferences!  Please send back the little progress report if you have not already done so.  We will use them again at the end of the school year.  In the meantime, if you need time for an "in between" conference just let us know.

Happy December birthday to:  Jeremiah Levesque and Kelechi Okorie will celebrate on December 8, Lauryn Penta December 22, Dylan McDermott on December 27th.  Congratulations to all these birthday children!

Father Paul, our adopted priest for Pre K, is scheduled to visit us on December 1st.  We are very fortunate to have Father Paul for our classrooms.  Janet Murphy is planning a a gift of the class picture and prayers from the children.  If anyone would like to contribule to a "stocking that we are filling for Father Paul"  feel free to send in a small item to put in the stocking.  Father Paul like chocolate, books, tea or anything you might want him to have.  Father Paul is the pastor of Our lady of Mercy in Merrimack.  Our Assistant, Marilis Klevisha, is a member of that church.

Our December celebration is scheduled for Monday, December 21st at 10 a.m.  Kira and Kristen are in charge of refreshments.  You will be contacted.  Thank you.

Our letters for December are L, M, and N.

Vacation begins on December 24th through January 3rd, 2010.  Have a wonderful vacation.

Merry Christmas and we'll see you all again next year!  January 3, 2010.

  

NOVEMBER NEWS

 

 Hello Parents!  We now have 20 students in Pre K L.  That is full enrollment.  Our newest student is Izabella "Bella" Haytayan.  Welcome Bella!  The letters for November are H,I,J,K.The numbers are 7, 8,9,10.  We will celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday on Tuesday, November 24th at 10 a.m.  All parents and grandparents, etc. are invited to celebrate with us.  If you have any questions about the party, please contact Kira or Kristen.  Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for November 24th from 4 to 8 p.m.  Mrs. Landry looks forward to speaking to all of you.  Everyone signed up.  Have a very happy Thanksgiving Day .  We have so much for which to be grateful.

OCTOBER NEWS

As the children say today, "Pre K L ROCKS".  Mrs. Rose mary, our Monday helper, has done crafts that include life size portraits of the children, tissue ghosts and is currently working on weaving placemats.

Our room mothers, Kira Dufoe and Kristen Rioux have become classroom volunteers.  Kira and Chef Combo do the fun With Food project on Wednesday.  So far the children have made apple sauce, stone soup and frosted cookies.

Kristen comes in on Friday and she and Mrs. K do a colossal art project.  Ms. Piggy teaches beginning French.  So far she's introduced the children to bonjour and aurevoir.  Mrs. K teaches Spanish and Mother Goose Language Arts.

Our letters for the month are DEFG.  Our colors are black and orange.  Our numbers are 456 and 7.

Happy Birthday students of the month are Christopher and Cameron Prangley.  Julie, their Mom, is our class photographer.

Our parent pizza party is scheduled for Friday, October 16  at 11:30 a.m.

Children will sing Brother John in four languages and a Mother goose Medley.

Our Halloween Party will happen on thursday, October 29 at 10 A.M.  parents may send treats.  Children may bring or wear their costumes.  parents are welcome to visit and to take pictures.

We learned a little rhyme about Christopher Columbus who discovered America!

We are having a wonderful time in our four year old program.  Feel free to visit anytime.

 SEPTEMBER NEWS

Our school team is : Bev Landry, Marillis Klevisha and Rose Mary Polevy.


Our themes will be:  All about ME, Apples, Leaves and Fall. In Religion we will learn the sign of the cross and begin work in our "I Am Special" workbooks.  In Math we will begin our year with free exploration and patterning.  The number of the week is #1.  A straight line one is lots of fun!  In Language we will begin to use our Mother Goose workbooks. The letter of the week is A.  In Science we will do free exploration.  In Spanishwe will begin with colors and start with the color "red". In Music/Movement  we will be learning the Hokey Pokey, Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, and If You're Happy and you Know it. Rose Mary will be tracing the children on large paper for them to  color and make a picture of themselves.


Paperwork:  Our paperwork will reinforce the concepts we are teaching.  In Art we will paint, color, draw, Scribble, use scissors to cut, Paste,etc. In the centers: we can play in the House, Block City, The Book Nook, White Board, Work jobs, Puppet Theater. We have our room mothers:  Thank you Kristen Rioux and Kira Dufoe for volunteering.


Our Room Mothers are the liaisons between home and school. They will help us keep open communications about the programs, the school sharing and the holiday celebrations.
