January Newsletter
JANUARY NEWS!!
Happy New Year!!! I hope that everyone had a restful, wonderful Christmas break and that we are all returning refreshed, healthy, and ready to take on our routine again! Blessings to you, as we begin 2012!!!
During the month of January the letters O, P, Q, and R will be introduced. The sound that each letter makes has been a focus and will continue throughout the year. We will work on the correct spelling and writing of each student’s last names. This is a fun thing to practice at home with paints, chalk, tub crayons and even snow! We introduced the months of the year with a cute Macarena dance in English now we will start learning them in Spanish.
In math, we will keep working on numbers 6, 7, 8, 9,10, sorting, matching, same and different. We will introduce weight and measurements.
For science we will talk about Polar animals. Penguins, seals and polar bears will be everywhere!!!! We will introduce solids and liquids having fun with the snow if we get any!!
For social studies we will talk about the Epiphany and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Thank you to the families that contributed in the shoebox collection for the Santa Fund. This program works hard to bring a smile to children in need during this special season. Getting our children involved is a great way of teaching them kindness and caring.
We deeply appreciate the Christmas presents and special treats we received from the students during Christmas. Thank you!!
