September Newsletter!!

Room Parents:

This year the room parents for our classroom are  Tammy & Jeremy Zelanes and Stacey Marino.

The room parents will work with teachers to organize classroom events like Halloween, Christmas and other events.

Parents are always welcome to volunteer in the classroom.

We will provide the room parents with a class list and contact information of every child.

Thank you to all of you parents that have offered to help in the classroom!

Adopted  Priest:

Each classroom at St. Christopher School has the honor of "adopting" an individual who is an active religious, including priests, deacons, and nuns. On a monthly basis, the adopted religious visit their classroom and present a lesson, attend a mass, or just hang out. This allows our students to develop an appreciation for those dedicated to religious life. 

Our “adopted” priest will be assigned soon. We will keep you informed.

Volunteers

We are very fortunate to count with a special  volunteer Mrs. Nancy Garceau. Mrs. Nancy is retired from BAE systems. She visits our classroom Wednesday afternoon  and helps out with crafts and projects.

Parents are always welcome.Please let us know if you would like to come and read a story to the children or if you would like to share a special talent with them.

 Farm animals and Apples are everywhere!

Language Arts: Letter of the Week (A, B, C, D) Phonics, Handwriting.

 Math: Numbers 0-3 will be review. Patterns will be introduced.

 Religion: God Made Me Special. Beginning Bible stories. We are having a lot of fun learning religious songs.

 Social Studies: Emergency 911, Johnny Appleseed, Stranger Danger, .

 Science: Hygiene, Exercise, Milk products, introduction to sequencing.

 Character Development: Feelings, sharing,Working together

The schedule for specials are as follows:                                                          

Monday: Library                                              

Tuesday: Music                                                      

Friday: Physical Education (gym uniforms are to be worn)

Reminder to Parents:

• Our Field trip to Parlee Farms is Thursday, September 22,2011. Please remember to dress your child appropriately for the weather.
• Picture day is Friday September 28, 2011. Please send your child with regular uniform. We will send more information.
• Please remember to bring a clean towel for rest time every Monday.
• Read every day to your child.
• Have your child in bed early so they can get a good night sleep.
