Please encourage anyone who might be interested in joining our school community to attend one of the Open Houses or to call for a private tour! We know that our current families are out best advertisements – thank you for all you do to build the St. Christopher School community!
Parish/School Mass – In conjunction with our upcoming Open Houses for prospective students, we will be holding our annual January Parish/School Mass this Sunday, January 8 at 10:00 AM. The mass will be followed by a Coffee Hour with lots of donuts and the opportunity to catch up with friends after the frenzy of the holidays! All students who attend the mass in uniform will receive a Free Dress pass for the following Friday, January 13.
Morning Drop-off – For the safety of our students, the rear school doors will now be closing promptly at 8:50 AM when the school bell rings and we will no longer be opening the rear school doors for children who arrive after that time. If you find yourself arriving at school after 8:50 AM and the rear doors are closed, please drive around to the front of the school and have your child ring the bell at the main front doors. You do not need to come to the door yourself, but please do not drive away until you see your child enter the school. Thanks for helping us keep our students safe!
Martin Luther King Day -- As stated before Christmas, we will NOT be holding school on Martin Luther King Day, January 16. We apologize for the confusion our prior conflicting statements created. No decision has been made regarding President's Day -- we will let you know as soon as possible.
Ski Club-- This Friday Jan 6th is the 1st day of ski club. All skiing students will be dismissed at 2:45, and may wear their gym uniforms. If your child will not be skiing on Friday, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by 10 am to let us know. If your child is not at school Friday, we will assume they are not skiing unless we receive an email from you. By 10 am we will email Crotched Mountain a list of students/parents not skiing and they will not run your ticket. This can be used at another time. We need volunteers to help load the bus at 2:30. If you are arriving at the school to pick up your child, please consider giving us a hand. Many hands make light work! See you on the mountain!
Congratulations – Hooray for our CYO Basketball Jr. Mites Green Team who won the St. Joe’s Tip-off Christmas Classic over vacation! Although they faced tough competition, they remained undefeated throughout the tournament. Great job everyone!
More Congratulations – Please welcome another member of the St. Chris community… Giada Sophia Leonard, newborn daughter of Jeni and Joshua Leonard! Giada joins big brothers Theo (Kdg) and Anthony!
Our Condolences – We send our condolences to the families of William Conway, a long-time supporter of Catholic education, who passed away just after Christmas. Mary Jane King, a daughter of Mr. Conway, is a member of our School Board and her two children, Connor and Grace, are alumni of the school. In addition, Sharon Hall, another of Mr. Conway’s daughters, was an active member of the St. Chris community throughout the many years her children, Ben, Sam, Zachary and Meredith, attended St. Chris. Our Catholic Schools Week Mass on January 30 will be said in memory of Mr. Conway.
In-House Registrations – Registrations for grades 3-6 for the next school year will be distributed on January 6 and will be due on January 27. Please be sure to be prompt in returning your registration so that we can save your child’s seat for next year!
Nashua’s Catholic Schools Night at the Monarchs – St. Chris will join Infant Jesus School and Nashua Catholic Junior High for a night at the Manchester Monarchs on February 11 at 7:00 PM! What a great way to beat the winter blues and have a great time with your St. Chris friends! The IJS, St. Chris, and Nashua Catholic Choruses will be combining to open the Monarchs game with a performance of the God Bless America. What better way to show support to our Catholic Schools than by attending the Monarchs game and cheering on our chorus and the Monarchs! The cost is $13.00 per ticket (cash or checks made payable to Nashua Catholic Junior High School). Download an order form HERE .
Scrip Orders – The holidays may be over, but there’s still a zillion birthday parties to come this year….thank goodness our Scrip program runs all year long! Mrs. Carney still has gift cards available for immediate gift giving in her office and you can order additional cards using the order form HERE .
Hot Lunch Reminder – February lunch ordering is open till January 15th. No late orders are possible, so be sure to get it done before ordering ends! Checks are due January 20th. Lunches can be ordered at OrderLunches.com.
Hot Lunch Volunteers --The hot lunch program relies on each and every volunteer and shopper. If you are unable to make your scheduled day, please call other volunteers and get a replacement. Please do not call the school and leave a message that you will not be able to volunteer – we are usually unable to find a replacement on such short notice and it leaves us VERY shorthanded!
Catholic Schools Week – Plans for the 2012 Catholic Schools Week are underway! This year’s celebration of Catholic schools takes place from January 30 through February 3. A schedule for the week’s events, including the Spelling Bee, Poetry Slam, Storyteller, Pajama Day and more will be distributed in January. No voucher necessary – simply tell your waitperson that you are with St. Chris and they will attach a voucher to your check!
Refresher Training – It is time for refresher training for all adults who work on a regular basis with minors in Diocese of Manchester parishes, schools, and camps.
