October Principal Letter

Dear Parents and Friends of St. Christopher School,

I would like to begin by thanking all of our families for choosing to send their students to St. Christopher School. It’s such a pleasure to see so many new students and families in our building.  I see daily examples of our teachers and staff going above and beyond to help our students.  I see families showing their support both financially and with their time and talents to support our school.  God continues to bless us!

The opening of our magnificent Fine Arts Center was another amazing blessing.  We worked hard for many years to make this dream a reality. Reaching a major milestone like this can only be achieved through incredible teamwork.  I am honored to work alongside some of the best in the business.  With the help of our school board, development office, faculty & staff and our dedicated and supportive pastor, Fr. David, our Fine Arts Center is up and running!! I must also express my deep appreciation and sincere gratitude to my building manager, John Levesque.  He has worked extremely hard for Fr. David and me, and has done it all with a smile on his face.  He is an amazing man.

I want to thank our partners in this endeavor, Kevin Corriveau with Corriveau Contracting and Condo Capital Projects…along with his crew for their extraordinary efforts during this project. Thank you for bringing our vision to life and donating your time and treasure to this arts center.  Kevin wanted to be a part of this project from the beginning.  He and his entire family have always been very supportive of our school.  When this opportunity came up to build the fine arts center he jumped at the chance to help us. During the process Kevin wanted to make everything happen just the way we had dreamed it.  He treated us with respect, patience and kindness.  He dropped everything on many occasions to come to us when we were having a problem and then proceeded to spend the entire day with us to get it done. To thank Kevin, we will be naming the Music room , The Corriveau Family Music Room. Thank you for all you’ve done for us!

I’d especially like to thank Brendan & Dana Keegan for their generous donation to our Fine Arts Center.  The art room will be named after Brendan’s mom Barbara Keegan, who taught art at St. Christopher for over 20 years.  We admire the support the Keegan family has given us over the years and appreciate their confidence in us to succeed with the project!

This week marked the beginning of the autumn season. There is always something magical and peaceful about the crops being harvested and the trees beginning to show us their many fall colors.  We are fortunate to live in New England and witness the beauty of God’s creation surrounding us each day.

Other highlights of the past month:

  • Our first school masses reflected a community at its best.  We honored God and prayed for His blessings on our students, staff, parents and parish.  The children, through Fr. David’s grace, experience the Holy Spirit in a very special way.
  • Our Calendar Raffle fundraiser ends on Monday.  I hope that we will make our goal of 2000 tickets sold!!  If you haven’t purchased your calendars yet but wish to join in the October raffle excitement, fill out those raffle tickets tonight and send them right away!!  We have many surprises for the students and families, especially if we meet our goal of 2000 tickets.  I will definitely be doing something craaazy!  Thank you so much for your support!
  • The Scholastic Book Fair was a big success!  I don’t have the exact number yet, but I’m sure we will be able to support the library handsomely. Thanks to everyone who supported this effort!
  • I am pleased to recognize the following students who led the school community in Morning Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance this month: Rebecca Nardone, Shea Hansen and Talin O’Connor.

What a fantastic start to the year!  One thing I notice every day is that our students are happy and their respect and concern for each other is amazing.  I thank each of you, as we are all a part of what makes St. Christopher different from the rest.  Each of us is more than just a name; we are all part of one big family!

Thank you one and all for your never ending support!
